About a year ago, DisneyBride won a contest through a fitness magazine and one of her prizes was a
yellow ArmPocket. It was barely out of the shipping box, when I decided to grab it and take it for a spin. She never actually got to wear it.
I have mentioned my love of pockets many times on this blog before. Well, this is a very convenient
pocket that goes on your arm. I have
used it to hold my keys, phone, credits cards, nutritional products, and cash. This thing hold more stuff than a moving
truck . This is my go-to item for
runs. You can actually see it in action
in several places on this blog.
These are just a few pictures. Let's just say I am a big fan!
Note from DisneyBride:
I was sad I never got to use MY ArmPocket. But I got my revenge. Every time we went on a run together, guess who got to carry my phone? my nutritional fuel? my ID and credit card? Yep. That's right. DG took my ArmPocket, so he gets to carry my stuff!

I bring this up for one reason: If you are in a two-runner household, you will definitely want to get your running buddy his or her own ArmPocket. That way they won't steal yours!
During the last few weeks of December it is too cold for
this Florida boy to run outside. I start
trying a few local gyms. Out of habit, I
pack my Armpocket. The following week,
I can’t find it! I am
crushed. I use this thing constantly,
and now I don’t know what I’ll use for the 5K and 10K during Walt Disney World Marathon
Weekend.
DisneyBride was in touch with the awesome folks at ArmPocket and
they have allowed us to do a review and giveaway. My profound man-love for the other ArmPocket
probably helped our case. You may
wonder if the products we review on this blog about are things we actually use. This review in
particular should let you know we will only recommend gear we actually use.
This time, we each got our very own ArmPocket. Conveniently, ArmPocket was going to be
at the runDisney Marathon Weekend Expo, and we were both able to pick up our arm
pockets in person. Now DisneyBride has one of her own. There are many models available and some will even fit the oversized phones. We both have iphones and there are several options for those. I received the Sport i-10 and DisneyBride selected the i-25. Maybe she purposely picked one with a mix of colors, thinking I would never “borrow” it.
I started wearing mine immediately. I used it for both my 5K and 10K Marathon
Week while running the Dopey Challenge.
The ArmPocket is extremely comfortably and worked great with both of
my costumes. Plenty of room for my
phone, cash, and credit cards.
It never moves from where you put it, is extremely comfortable, and most important: it is extremely functional. This
thing must have a portal to another dimension, seems like it never gets
full. DisneyBride says it reminds her of Mary Poppins carpetbag.

About the company:
ArmPocket is a small company based in Miramar, Florida (near Miami). Developed BY athletes FOR other athletes, the first ArmPocket took over three years of perfecting to get it just right. After trying half a dozen other 'phone cases' for runners, I can say ArmPocket is the first I've seen to truly get it right.
Maintenance:
I use my ArmPocket several times a week, and after a few wearings it can get sweaty and gross just like any other piece of gear. FYI: They clean up really well. I was
constantly getting my last one: the bright yellow one - really dirty on trail runs. A quick toss into the washing machine and
it came out looking new. I never put it
through the dryer and it always dried quickly when I just hung it up.
Features:
The ArmPocket has a few features that have been extremely convenient
for me.
- First, the headphone jack hole. It conveniently allows me to use headphone and keep the ArmPocket zipped closed. This keeps everything secure in the pocket.
- Second, the ArmPocket is water resistant. Slipping on a trail into mud or a light rain isn’t going to ruin your phone.
- Third, unlike other cases made for running, you can actually work the touch screen on your phone. The ArmPocket screen protector protects the phone while actually allowing you to use it. Sounds odd, but this is the first product that allowed me to use my iPhone while still in the pocket.
- Finally, padding on the underside of the
pocket does a great job of moving water away.
As you can see from several of my other posts, I sweat like a sinner in
church. Even with all the sweat, my
phone manages to stay dry.
I continue to run with this ArmPocket. It is extremely helpful during my lunch
runs. It is the only thing I have found
that holds my phone and my awkwardly bulky office key. Those of you running during Princess weekend
will see me running with it again during the 5K and 10K.
And as you can see - DisneyBride is happily wearing her very own ArmPocket out on her runs.

Have you ever had a problem with this armband slipping down your arm at all? Usually I use a Spi Belt to hold my stuff, but don't usually run with my phone. I have a road ID, but being able to carry my phone comfortably would definitely be nice.
ReplyLauren, slippage was the number one problem I had with other phone cases. The ArmPocket fabric lining is somewhat 'grippy' (but still very soft). Just adjust the band to your comfort level and it will stay in place. HTH ~DisneyBride
Replyright now i use an amphibod arm band and it is a hand me down from a friend - pretty old and tattered and slips down a lot. i'm excited to hear testimony about how grippy the armpocket is. i'd be stashing my phone in my armpocket, which i like to have with me because i am a music runner, as well as headed to disney in two weeks for Glass Slipper Challenge and need a handy camera of course ;)
ReplyArmpockets rule!!
ReplyI def need something to carry my iPhone in when I'm running. Lately, I've just been carrying it which is annoying to say the least. I'd also stash my car key or some gu's in the pocket.
Replyps. I'm super excited about the idea of designs, love running bride's armpocket!
I carry my ID and my iphone.
ReplyI'd carry some fuel, chapstick, keys, phone, and a good luck charm ;)
ReplyHonestly I've never used a Arm Pocket, but always wanted one! LOL Usually pick a light jacket with pockets (usually drops!) or tuck it in bra (ACK gets sweaty!)
ReplyLaurie. Been there. It's terrible in summer when you are sweaty. I prefer to carry my phone on my arm now. :)
ReplyYou should check out their booth at the Expo. All the ArmPockets are roomy - but some have double the storage capacity. You could carry a phone, mp3 player, camera, and snacks if you need to.
ReplyCan I get an Amen?
Replyok Carlee, what do you use as a Good Luck charm? Inquiring minds wanna know. :)
ReplyI always hold things in my hand. I would love to store my keys in an armband.
ReplyI have seen these pockets before but have discounted them because I use a belt. Well you gave such a fabulous description of this product that I am convinced that I need an arm pocket now!
ReplyI put my keys in a pocket. If I'm running far enough that I need to carry other stuff then I have a Nathan running vest. The ArmPocket would be great for shorter runs so that I can carry my iPhone, which would be good for safety.
ReplyLisa, that's what we do. For anything beyond 10 miles, we will run with a hydration vest and use that for storage. But for shorter distances, the ArmPocket works well for us.
ReplyYes, check them out at the Expo when you can. I can still use my belts - I'll attach my race bib to the belt instead of my clothes. But I don't need to carry fuel or my phone in the belt anymore.
ReplyI've tried to do that with smaller items, but my hands get too sweaty! I will carry a water bottle with a handstrap sometimes though.
ReplyHelen, they have some great color choices! I really like my multi-color one - as it seems to match everything!
ReplyRight now I just carry everything in my hand or for long races I use a fuel belt. I don't always like having something around my waist though! The ArmPocket will be great to carry my phone, ID, and a little $$. It will also keep my phone dry on raining Oregon runs.
ReplyWhen I found your blog I fell instantly in love with it. I can relate to you DB. When I run outside I usually wear clothes that have pockets to put all my stuff it or if I'm on a treadmill I put everything in the cups and have little room.
ReplyThanks so much for reading our blog, Jessica. :) I carry a lot of stuff with me too! I've gotten better, and now can usually just bring a phone, one key, and my ID when I run outside. But on a treadmill - yes I have magazines, and ipod full of audiobooks, water, phone, towel, etc.
ReplyBrooke, yes - on the rainy runs I've done with my ArmPocket, my phone stayed nice and dry. Thanks for checking out the blog.
ReplyA minimalist. I love it. Good luck with the giveaway!
ReplyI'd love to try one. I'm still searching for the Holy Grail of armbands because they always chafe. Even too thick of seems on shirts do, though. How to win so I can try it. Hate to keep spending money in armbands that are just piled away when they don't work.
ReplyA waistband Amphipod, but I could go for something on my arm instead.
ReplyI just use the pocket of my jacket and it is annoying. I would put my car key in the ArmPocket.
ReplyI typically use my bar to "carry" my phone! It sucks I would love to have one of these. :D
ReplyI use a SPI belt but it's hard bc you have to turn it on and then pack it away
ReplyRight now I carry my phone in my hand and my fuel in my water belt. My phone is too big to carry in my water belt. I love Armpocket! I had one for my iPhone but it's too small for my current phone.
